RIP: LucasArts

Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force.

Dang.

LucasArts, one of the most innovative publishing houses of all time has been shut down by Disney, cancelling all proposed projects, including the ever so promising looking Star Wars 1313.

Sad news for Star Wars fans for sure, but even sadder news for those of us who were fans of LucasArts’ multiple adventure game masterpieces: Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, the multiple Indiana Jones games and so on. While it’s been a while since LA released any, I always hoped for a return to the old genre, but alas, they’re to remain as untouched as a box of power converters at Toshi Station.

Thanks anyway, LucasArts. And may the Force (/maybe Kickstarter someday) be with you...
