A Less Critical Look At Vanillaware Art

This week on Schmame Over, Patrick and I ripped into Vanillaware artist George Kamitani over the sexist and immature art for Vanillaware’s upcoming game Dragon’s Crown. We also mentioned that he had done some art for characters that wasn’t like the Dragon’s Crown stuff at all, that it was so sad that his art had stooped to such a level because he had made really wonderful character designs that were both beautiful and not sexually pandering.

So in the interest of fairness, let’s look at some of George Kamitani’s work that is way better than that Dragon’s Crown vomit.

Your comments are volatile and disgusting. You immediately strike me as a an ill-mannered individual who seems to have the opinion that he can render other’s passion as vomit. The man you call immature is the man who makes some of the best games of all time. They are also some of the most innocent games of all time. These characters are drawn with such detail and intricacy and conviction and you have most likely achievesd less than half of what this man has. I am not here to shower you with insults. I’m here to try and childishly make you seem lowly. I just think that you should think about what you say next time and consider all the facts. Maybe then you’re opinion will be worth something. I didn’t see you write about how childish The Witcher 3 is due to its sex scenes. Why? Maybe you felt the sex was fitting for it? Well maybe we feel similarly about Dragon’s Crown. You cab go ahead and dismiss my comment now if you like. I only wrote to try and teach you the manners that your parents obviously never did.
