Indie Developers Choose Sony over Microsoft

Sony-Microsoft

I am not the greatest person in the world to talk up indie developers or their games. Honestly, I have just recently gotten into the works of lesser-known developers. The few games that I have played are simply amazing. Bastion makes me as happy as happy can be. To the Moon was a beautiful story that made me contemplate my life. Works like these have facilitated my transition from fanboy to actual gamer. Don’t get me wrong, I will play the big titles when they come out. But I have learned that not name recognition is not the only criteria for good game play.

With that in mind: It saddens me that Microsoft isn’t taking indie gaming seriously. Sure, they’re branching off in to Windows 8 territory in every piece of hardware they come out with; which does allow for indie app development. I don’t want apps. I’m not a mobile gamer. I like my game on a big screen so my shitty eyesight doesn’t ruin the experience. Surely I’m not alone in this sentiment.

Get off your ass, Microsoft, and give these creative and inventive devs what they want. Get off your ass or Sony is going to eat your lunch.
