We Should All Play Monster Hunter
No, really. The Dallas Morning News has a good write up about what makes Monster Hunter so great and why we should be playing more of it. And while they have a lot of great points, there’s some things they don’t touch on that really elevates this experience in my mind.
- Couch co-op. I know Americans aren’t as happy about offline play as the Japanese are, because we have fucking non public transit, but it’s really nice to sit in the same room with three hunters and go hunt a Lagiacrus. It’s something straight out of the best parts of our childhood.
- Because you can fight with giant forks and knives.
- Because you get to fight things like this.
