Eternal Darkness 2 (and 3, and 4, and 5…)

It exists!

Eternal Darkness is getting a PC sequel. Of course, this means it is getting a crowdfunded shot of capital, with a modest (for a game of this size) goal of 1.5 million dollars. If you never played the original Eternal Darkness, you’re missing out on one of the best horror games to have ever been made.

It wasn’t just creepy, any game can do that, it messed with your actual sense of reality. Turning off randomly, pretending like it deleted your save data, even going so far as implying you beat the game randomly halfway through the game, you were never quite sure if what was going on in the game was part of the game or if the outside world was intruding on your game.

Titled ‘Shadow of the Ancients’, it unfortunately looks like the game is going to be episodic. I’ll take more Eternal Darkness however I can get it, but episodic just doesn’t seem like the right way to do a horror game. Though I am a little scared that the former head of Silicon Knights is still running the show, that man isn’t exactly known for sane business decisions.

But what do I know, I’ve been wrong about episodic horror before.

Here’s looking forward to years of fresh terror!

(Wait, there’s a plot to that game?)
