Cautiously Optimistic, XCOM Shooter

Unlike many in the world, I was only excited about XCOM: Enemy Unknown and the ever-name-changing XCOM shooter. More XCOM is never a bad thing. Today more details were released about the shooter, officially naming it “The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.”

Of course, the new trailer is live action so we don’t get to see any gameplay, but it apparently takes place in the 1960s around when aliens are first discovered on Earth. If nothing else that’s a cool time period for a game, not many worthwhile video games happen around then.

It’s being produced by the Bioshock 2 team which helps me remain cautiously optimistic, they took the arduous task of following up the most ambitious shooter in years and did a very competent job with it. Hopefully they’ll be given some more room to actually produce something of their own with XCOM. Here’s hoping. Check out the trailer below.
